Hinton Human Capital, an emerging leader in Green, Environmental and Infrastructure search is seeking an an experienced Aquatic Biologist/Project Manager for a prominent environmental consulting firm Chicago, IL. The ideal candidates must have 10 or more years of consulting experience doing Clean Water Act (CWA) sections 316 a & b related projects and have the following experience and skills:

 Job Description

  • Demonstrated experience as a “seller/doer” developing relationships and business with governments, manufacturers and utilities
  • Experience managing project teams and tasks is required
  • Strong knowledge of Clean Water Act (CWA) sections 316 a & b regarding power plants is required
  • Knowledge of fish and aquatic wildlife native to Midwest is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of water quality, TMDLs and modeling is a plus
  • Experience with permitting process and natural resource damage assessment is a plus

Qualifications

  • MS in Aquatic Biology, Ecology, fisheries or Natural Sciences is required
  • Strong oral & written communication skills required
  • Relocation is available

Ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in environmental health & safety experience in a field services or industrial services setting plus the following skills and abilities:

  •  Overseeing and conducting employee training and coaching sessions on behavioral based safety and health programs (e.g. PPE, mobile equipment, CSE, hearing conservation, HazCom, emergency response) for company
  • Ability to centralize safety program systems, metrics and reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Health/Safety or Environmental or related field
  • CSP and /or CIH certifications are a strong plus
  • 10 years experience in EH&S role, safety as ‘core competency’, in an industrial setting
  • Strong communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills, (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
  • Organized, independent, and have the ability to travel an estimated 25% as required in the position.
